Abstract

The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence, particularly Generative AI (AIGC) and Large Language Models (LLMs), is fundamentally reshaping the landscape of higher education. This transformation is especially pronounced in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and broader STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) disciplines, where complex concepts and hands-on problem-solving are paramount. The "1st International Workshop on Generative AI-Empowered Infocomm, STEAM Education and Learning Accessibility (GenAI-EduAccess 2026)" aims to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, educators, and industry practitioners to share cutting-edge insights, innovative frameworks, and practical applications of AI in education.

Complementing the main themes of ICAIT 2026, this workshop seeks to attract a broad spectrum of submissions by exploring not only the technological enablement of AI (e.g., agentic workflows, AI-driven curriculum generation, virtual tutors) but also the ethical governance, safety, and pedagogical paradigm shifts required in the AI era. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Internet Society (ISOC) Accessibility Standing Group (ASG), a special emphasis will be placed on digital inclusion. The workshop will also actively explore how advanced AI and next-generation infocomm technologies can break down learning barriers, creating accessible, equitable, and personalized educational pathways for learners with diverse needs and disabilities. By bridging advanced infocomm technologies with educational innovation and digital accessibility, GenAI-Edu 2026 will foster vibrant discussions on how to cultivate the next generation of inclusive tech talent.
